Washington, D.C. Government Relations Director Jeremy Scott, a member of the Government & Regulatory Affairs practice group, authored, “The Reauthorization of the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research,” published in the August 2013/September 2013 issue of ARN Network.

The article summarized the present status of the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) as it is currently housed within the U.S. Department of Education and considered its potential for reauthorization and relocation to a new agency.  It also noted that on June 12, the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Coalition (DRRC), of which ARN is a member, held a conference call on the subject and identified the need to set up a meeting with Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA, Chairman of the Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education [LHHS] Appropriations Subcommittee) and Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN, LHHS Subcommittee Ranking Member) to discuss the reauthorization of NIDRR.
