Philadelphia partner Baird Brown co-authored an article titled, “The Sustainable Campus: Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Harnessing Government Incentives” for a presentation at The National Association of College and University Attorneys.

Baird co-authored the article with John Byrne, Director and Distinguished Professor of Energy and Climate Policy Center for Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Delaware.

The article discusses a variety of types of projects and available incentives. It discusses the financing structures for two types of projects - building energy efficient improvements and solar electricity generating facilities - that are among the most widely implemented, and discusses alumni investments as a means of realizing some of those structures. Finally, it reviews organizational and policy efforts that can sustain university efforts to create mutual benefits for the planet and higher education.
