Health Care Group chair and partner Doug Swill was recently quoted in an article for Bloomberg BNA’s Health Law Reporter titled, “Let’s Call the Whole Thing off: Why Some Health-Care Deals Die.”

The article examines the reasons why health care industry transactions end up failing before closing. Doug noted that among the top reasons are: “Deal fatigue,” or delays in the deal giving way to doubts; parties getting weary of resolving issues as they come up during due diligence; unexpected hurdles with federal and state regulations involving advance filings; or simply that the two combining entities just have incompatible business cultures.
