Honorees were chosen by a six-member judging panel, which evaluated nominees on their advancement of their law, leadership, and pro bono efforts. Winners were profiled in a special supplement and honored at an awards dinner in Philadelphia on June 21.
Meredith has a broad litigation practice with an emphasis on consumer class actions, business disputes and internal investigations. She routinely defends companies in putative class actions brought under consumer protection statutes in jurisdictions across the country. Meredith specializes in defending companies against false and deceptive marketing, advertising and pricing allegations, and privacy-based claims, and has particular expertise in the retail industry. Meredith is a leader in the firm’s Retail Industry Group and represents a number of leading retailers in their class action matters and counsels them on related compliance issues .
Meredith is also a key member of Drinker Biddle’s Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) Team and has extensive experience representing companies in putative class actions and individual actions brought under this statute. She counsels clients on TCPA compliance measures.
Meredith is active within the firm, and serves as Co-Chair of the Summer Associate Committee and a member of the Women’s Leadership Committee, the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Committee, Retail Industry Group, and the Core Interview Team. Meredith is an integral part of the firm’s First Year Associate Training Program and mentors a number of junior lawyers.
Outside of the office, she is a participant in Leadership Philadelphia, serves on the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Corporate Executive Board and sits on the Alumni Board of Managers of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Meredith is also a member of the Brandeis Law Society. She has written articles for a number of reputable legal publications, including a recent cover story for Practical Law Journal (April/May 2016 edition) on biometrics class action litigation and has presented at conferences and events with groups including PACE, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and the ACC.
Earlier this year, Meredith was arecipient of The University of Pennsylvania Law School’s 2016 Rising Star Award for her leadership and professional achievements. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Meredith lives in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with her husband, Dan, (Senior Counsel at SAP) and their three children ages 2, 4 and 7.
