Washington, D.C. partner Eduardo Guzman has been selected as one of Law360’s 2016 Rising Stars.
Law360’s Rising Stars series selects the top attorneys nationwide who are under 40 years of age and have made significant contributions in their practice areas. Eduardo was only one of three attorneys selected for his work in the telecommunications field.
One of Eduardo’s many accomplishments includes serving as lead counsel and guiding the Puerto Rico Telephone Company (PRTC) through four years of regulatory proceedings and litigation to become the first telephone company approved to sell video service in Puerto Rico.
Eduardo still works with PRTC and credits much of the success and relationship with PRTC to the mentoring he’s received since joining the firm.
“Looking at the trust that client has in me and the work I've done for them, years after the other partners have retired, it's remarkable,“ said Eduardo. “To me, it says something about the people who brought me in and what law firms should be. I had people who truly mentored me and who truly put an emphasis on grooming a next generation of lawyers.”
Eduardo will continue to take on more work internationally , focusing first on the telecom market in Cuba. At 38 years old, few attorneys at his age have more first-chair experience representing telecom carriers in federal appellate and arbitration proceedings.
