The Daily Journal has published a profile on San Francisco partner and chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group, Cheryl Orr.

In the article, titled, “Practicing Through Chemotherapy,” Cheryl discussed a challenging time in her career, which was compounded by being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She worked through her illness without taking a leave, successfully undergoing chemotherapy and radiation while simultaneously meeting all of her client demands.

Cheryl said the strength and support from she received from her colleagues helped her make it through her illness feeling “stronger than ever.”

In recent years her practice has become one of the strongest wage and hour class action defense practices in California. Since 2011, Cheryl has spoken at each of the American Conference Institute’s three annual national forums on wage and hour claims and class actions. In the past year, she has secured multiple victories for Kaplan and served as a lead counsel for several major retailers.
