Los Angeles associate Phil Lebel was quoted in a Law360 article titled, “Pro-Employee Bills Raise Litigation Risks for California Cos.”
The article discussed the release of the California Chamber of Commerce’s annual list of “job killer” bills that might fuel lawsuits and entangle business operations. Phil provided insight on bills seeking to force more employers to provide 12 weeks of leave per year and another aiming to penalize companies that switch work schedules with little notice.
Phil commented, “The cost of doing business in California seems to be the primary focus of the chamber’s list. It also is looking at bills that tie employers’ hands when dealing with management and staffing decisions.”
