District Policy Group president Ilisa Halpern Paul was quoted in a Modern Healthcare article titled, “Healthcare logjam breaks in Congress.” The article discusses the recent thaw that has resulted in movement on health care legislation, allowing several bipartisan bills to be passed. The House Energy and Commerce Committee is also expected to present a revised 21st Century Cures bill this week, hoping to gain bipartisan support.

Ilisa commented on the problems that Congress has faced in the past, saying that the Senate and House – due to divided control – had generally ignored each other. “When you know the outcome of your work is going to be the trash can, you’re not as invested in it,” she said.
