Washington, D.C. associate Phil Cardinale was recently appointed for a third year as a liaison on behalf of the American Bar Association (ABA) to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR), the world’s primary vehicle for the negotiation of copyright treaties. 

Phil will share the role of SCCR co-liaison with former U.S. Register of Copyrights Ralph Oman.  As a delegate of the ABA to WIPO, Phil will have a non-voting role in negotiations before the SCCR. 

Additionally, Phil was appointed by the ABA’s Intellectual Property Section to the serve in the coming year as liaison to the ABA Entertainment & Sports Industries Forum and in that role will assist in coordinating between the leadership bodies of those organizations.
