Chicago partner and superstar DJ Alan King spent Saturday, July 5, at Jackson Park, Chicago, playing to approx. 45,000 people at the 24th Annual Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic.

The Chosen Few comprises seven men (including Alan), all high school buddies, who are largely responsible for the style of music known as Chicago house. The annual July picnic is often referred to as the “Woodstock of House Music,” a destination for people of all shapes and sizes from Chicago and around the world.

Speaking to the Chicago Sun Times in advance of the gig, Alan said, “The picnic has come to mean so much for so many people. We joke that we couldn’t stop it now if we wanted to because people just look forward to it every year. They come from around the country and around the world. We created a monster.”
