Drinker Biddle & Reath partner Ronald A. Sarachan has been named co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense & Corporate Investigations Team.  Sarachan, resident in the firm’s Philadelphia office, will lead the team together with partner Charles Leeper, who is resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.  Sarachan joined Drinker Biddle two years ago after practicing in the white collar area for over 25 years.  He focuses his practice on white collar litigation, regulatory enforcement, internal investigations, and False Claims Act and other complex civil litigation.

Sarachan previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he was senior litigation counsel and chief of the major crimes section. He also was appointed chief of the environmental crimes section in the U.S. Department of Justice.  Sarachan teaches corporate responsibility and ethics at The Wharton School.

Drinker’s White Collar Team has been growing, with the April 2012 addition of Scott Coffina, former associate counsel to President George W. Bush and a former Assistant United States Attorney, and the addition of Daniel J. Collins earlier this week, a former Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois.

Sarachan is ranked in Chambers USA as a leading practitioner in the environmental practice area and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Criminal Defense: White Collar, Environmental Law.  Sarachan earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Brown University, also magna cum laude.
