Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP announces the addition of two lawyers to its Corporate and Securities practice group. Elda Beylerian Feldman joins the firm as counsel from Riker Danzig and Amy Williams joins as an associate from Lloyd’s America. Both will be members of Drinker Biddle’s growing insurance regulatory team.
“The additions of Elda and Amy underscore the Firm's determination to continue building a leading multi-disciplinary insurance industry practice with team members in Philadelphia, New York, Florham Park, Chicago, Washington and London,” said Robert Juelke, chair of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group, referring to the firm’s insurance regulatory capabilities that were significantly augmented with the addition of premiere practitioners Thomas Dawson, John Mulhern and Michael Byrne one year ago.
Feldman, based in the firm’s Florham Park, NJ office, has more than 20 years of diverse insurance regulatory and litigation experience. She focuses her practice on insurance and reinsurance related matters, including the resolution of reinsurance disputes and advising clients on underwriting and claims. Feldman counsels domestic and international clients, most notably in the London market, on insurance regulatory compliance in the United States and insurance-related legislation.
In addition to her work in private practice and as in-house counsel for a reinsurance company, Feldman worked for the American Bar Association Central and Eastern European Law Initiative (now ROLI), and founded its rule of law office in Yerevan, Armenia. As part of this effort, Feldman helped form the first independent association of Armenian judges and provided legal assistance to the Armenian parliament. Immediately following graduation from law school, she clerked for the Honorable Geoffrey Gaulkin, former judge of the N.J. Appellate Division in Jersey City, N.J.
Feldman earned her juris doctor from Rutgers Law School where she was editor-in-chief of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter and the recipient of the Carol Russ Memorial Prize, and holds a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Yale University.
Amy Williams joins the Drinker Biddle insurance practice team from Lloyd’s America where she worked on insurance regulatory projects in the General Counsel’s Office. She is resident in the firm’s New York City office.
Williams earned her juris doctor from Fordham Law School and her bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary, where she was named a Fulbright Scholar.
