Florham Park partner John Scally was inducted to the Muhlenberg College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct 20.
John was a four-year starting defenseman on the Muhlenberg men’s soccer team. He was an all-conference defenseman in 1970 and 1972. He also captained the 1972 team, which won the first MAC championship in program history. It would be 17 years before Muhlenberg won another MAC title in men’s soccer.
The Mules finished with a record of 12-2-1, including an undefeated 8-0 in the MAC South, and outscored their opponents 40-19.
The team recorded the first NCAA Tournament win of any team in College history, defeating highly regarded Philadelphia Textile in an epic 5-4 overtime battle.
