Philadelphia associate Chanda Miller was a panelist at the seventh annual Mass Torts Judicial Forum on April 3 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. The conference was led by Hon. Marina Corodemus (ret.), who developed an agenda to tackle the most urgent topics facing courts and counsel today.

Chanda’s panel was titled, “Personal Jurisdiction Issues in Mass Torts” and included:

  • A balanced primer on Supreme Court jurisprudence, e.g., Daimler and Goodyear;
  • Presentation from plaintiff and defense on the pending SCOTUS appeal of Bristol-Meyers Squibb Co. v. Superior Court, 175 Cal. Rptr. 3d 412 (Cal. App. 2014);
  • Personal jurisdictions issues in class actions; and
  • Jurisdictional discovery.
