San Francisco partner Cheryl Orr co-chaired American Conference Institute’s 29th National Forum on Wage and Hour Claims and Class Actions in Miami. The two-day event was held on January 26 and 27 and featured the latest developments in the DOL’s overtime and white collar exemption regulations, the future of class action waivers in arbitration agreements, recent trends in wage & hour class and collective actions, new pay equity laws, paid sick leave, contingent workers and joint employer liability, and the future of wage & hour insurance.

Cheryl and her co-chair, William Martucci of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, gave opening remarks. Cheryl also moderated a panel of in-house counsel whose presentation was titled, “In-House Insights on New and Emerging Areas of Risk in the Wage & Hour Landscape; Responding to Enhanced Enforcement Initiatives; First-Hand Accounts of Compliance Strategies and Pitfalls to Avoid; Selecting and Retaining Outside Counsel; Internal Audit Assessment; Managing Complex Litigation; and More.”
