Washington, D.C. partner Joe Rillotta presented to the ABA Tax Section Young Lawyers Forum on the “‘Nuts and Bolts’ of Criminal Tax” on January 20, 2017, at the section’s midyear meeting in Orlando, Florida. The presentation provided an overview of the criminal tax statutes, investigation and prosecution procedures, and tactical considerations in defending criminal tax cases. Other topics included post-trial proceedings and the potential impact of criminal tax liability on civil tax issues.
