Chicago partner Carrie Beyer taught a seminar at the University of Washington’s Center for Advanced Study and Research on Intellectual Property (CASRIP) Summer Institute on July 31, 2015. Carrie spoke on discovery procedures and issues in patent litigation as part of the Advanced Patent Enforcement curriculum.

During her two-hour presentation to attorneys from Asia and Europe, Carrie discussed the scope of discovery in patent cases, protective orders, typical topics for discovery, local patent rules, written discovery, depositions, and sanctions for discovery violations.  She also discussed particular discovery issues that may arise in cases with non-U.S. parties.
