Washington, D.C. partner Bob Stoll Bob spoke on the panel, “Patent-Approval Linkage System” and moderated “Recent IP-Related Legislation in the Two Systems” seminar at the 2013 Korea-US IP Judicial Conference on October 21.

Bob’s presentation discussed the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement and Korea’s recent implementation of the Patent-Regulatory Approval Linkage System, with the remaining parts set to be implemented by March 15, 2015.

During the session, Bob compared the already well-established patent-regulatory approval linkage system in the United States with the Korean system, with a focus on the key differences between the two systems.  This was followed by an analysis of the legal issues expected to arise in Korea due to these differences.  A discussion of pay for delay also took place in the session.
