Chicago partners Kathleen Murphy and Dan Collins presented at the annual EU Conference sponsored by the International Compliance Professionals Association in Dublin, Ireland, from June 23-25. The panel was titled “Preventing Bribery and Corruption in International Business Transactions: The Bar Moves Higher.”

The discussion focused on warning developed nations, emerging regions and companies across the globe that they must come to grips with a new reality that involves heightened enforcement of existing laws and development of more stringent requirements concerning bribery and corruption. A company that takes proactive steps to implement proper controls will be in the best position to prevent corruption, to defend itself against allegations of bribery, and to remain competitive in the global economy.
