Philadelphia associate Paula M. Jones of the Private Client Practice Group presented at the Society of Human Resource Management Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago, Ill., on June 18.

Paula’s presentation was titled, “Estate and Income Tax Issues for the Multinational Executive.” Human resource professionals recruiting and maintaining international executives should understand personal tax issues affecting this unique group of talent. Paula gave an income tax primer as well as estate and gift tax basics, including pre-immigration issues for executives heading to the U.S. and expatriation issues for those leaving the U.S. or changing immigration status. Finally, the recent issues in foreign account compliance affecting so many international executives were discussed.
