Lee Petro, of counsel to the Washington, D.C., office, will speak at the 124th Annual National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners Meeting in Baltimore, Md., on Monday, Nov. 12.

Lee will participate in a session titled, “Is it Fair for Families to Pay Exorbitant Rates to Call Incarcerated Relatives?” As the 10-year anniversary of the opening of the FCC proceeding on inmate calling approaches, the panel will look at the security needs of prison communications.

Attendees will learn about rates and charges paid by inmates and their families and the actions to address this issue taken by eight states. Lee will contribute to a discussion of what the FCC has considered in the past and is considering in the future.
