Chicago partner Jesse Ruiz will speak at the Hispanic National Bar Association’s 37th Annual Convention in Seattle, Wash., on Friday, August 24.

The event will gather hundreds of lawyers, judges, and students for a valuable four-day program featuring CLE panels, networking events and workshops.

Jesse, partner in the firm's Corporate and Securities Group, will speak on two panels: “The Top Five Issues Affecting New/Young Hispanic Lawyers,” in the morning, and “Corporate Transactions in a Down Economy: Challenging, But Still Possible” in the afternoon.

The first session will focus on key issues facing young Hispanic lawyers, including: Work-life Balance; Time Management; Relationships with Opposing Counsel, Pro-Bono Opportunities; and Community Involvement.

The second will feature a discussion of key areas of importance that arise in commercial transactions as a result of the current economic downturn, including the increased importance of indemnity provisions, representations, and warranties, and financing clauses.

Washington partner Eduardo Guzman and Chicago associate Nick Guzman will also be attending the Convention.
