Washington, D.C., partner Mercedes Meyer will speak at the American Bar Association’s annual meeting in Toronto on August 7.

 

The program will feature more than 150 CLE programs from each of the ABA’s sections, divisions and other entities.  

 

Mercedes will speak in a cross section, panel discussion, “MCBio Terrorism, Bio Ethics and

Intellectual Property on Trial.” The program will utilize well-crafted problems to demonstrate how technology capable of dual use (for good and for evil) is dealt with, including how it is applied to persons of interest in the interrogation process and agents capable of being used as weapons of mass destruction. 

 

Mercedes’ presentation will focus on the differences between bioethics, neuroethics and patent ethics in neuroscience, virology and patents.
