Frank F. Velocci is a partner in the firm's Commercial Litigation and Corporate Restructuring Practice Groups.  His experience includes litigation and arbitration in the areas of real estate, telecommunications, health care, prerogative writs, legal malpractice and business torts.  Frank has been involved in a number of complex litigations involving the investigation of distressed companies and their former executives, including successfully obtaining a multi-million-dollar jury verdict in a breach of lease action against a public entity and its attorneys.

Frank has represented debtors, trustees, committees and secured creditors in a number of complex Chapter 11 cases.  Recently, Frank assisted St. Mary’s Hospital to confirm the first stand-alone reorganization for a New Jersey hospital in more than a decade.  Frank was one of the lead lawyers who negotiated a consensual stand-alone plan of reorganization and a long-term, interest-free repayment plan with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on St. Mary’s legacy Medicare debt so that the hospital could assume its Provider Agreement with CMS.

In General.  Frank served as a law clerk to the Hon. Rosemary Gambardella, former Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.  He completed the Trial Advocacy Program at the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia.  Frank is a graduate of Montclair State University and Seton Hall University School of Law.  He has served as a lecture panelist on bankruptcy and litigation-related issues for various groups including the American Bankruptcy Institute and the New Jersey Bar Association.  Frank was selected as a Rising Star in the area of Business Litigation by New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

In addition to his practice, Frank has made a sustained commitment to pro bono work in the community, primarily for the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project, an organization that protects the rights of victims of domestic violence.  The firm has a long-standing relationship with the Project and Frank has both represented a number of victims of domestic violence and has served as a supervisor for many younger associates who have volunteered their time to the Project.

Frank is admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey.  He is a member of the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
