Alexa Miller Discusses Managing Employee Complaints on Social Media With P&C Specialist

P&C Specialist spoke to labor and employment partner Alexa Miller about what employers need to consider about brand reputation risks when disgruntled workers turn to social media to vent.

Companies should not just ignore comments because they’re anonymous, said Miller. “Make sure if there is an issue, you’re taking steps to address it.”

Beyond monitoring social media, companies need to ensure employees have a safe space within the company to air their grievances without fear of retribution, Miller explained. “Giving employees the opportunity to raise concerns or issues to management without fear of retaliation is what makes employees less likely to use other platforms to complain about things.”
