Summer Program
We currently run our summer program in the Philadelphia, Washington DC, Florham Park, Chicago and San Francisco offices.
We take great pride in having constructed a summer program that gives participants valuable legal experience and captures the spirit of our firm. Our goal is to provide summer associates with a clear understanding of the work and personality of the firm, and to network with our lawyers in the process. - closings
- negotiations
- due diligence visits to the target company in an acquisition
- trips to financial printers to assist in the preparation of documents
Learning from Your Summer
We give timely and constructive evaluations to our summer associates.
Each summer associate is assigned to an associate host who serves as an informal guide and friend for the summer associate throughout the summer.
Each summer associate is also assigned to a partner mentor who works with the Summer Committee to ensure that each summer associate gets ample feedback on their assignments.
We also conduct a provocative series of seminars and discussions through which our summer associates experience a range of perspectives and topics, from ethics to practice-based tricks of the trade.
Nature of the Work
We let summer associates choose, when possible, their assignments, and our program is flexible enough to accommodate their varied interests. Our summer associates meet together at the start of each week to discuss that week's activities. Available assignments are described and the summer associates are given the opportunity to volunteer for those assignments that interest them.
Social Outings
We provide ample opportunities for our summer associates to socialize with lawyers and peers both in and out of the office. From major league baseball games to concerts and lawyer-hosted dinner parties, our summer associates quickly discover our greatest strength — our people.
Compensation
In 2009, our summer associates in Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Florham Park and San Francisco will be paid $2,800 - $3,077 per week.
