Ayse Kuzucuoglu is an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. Her practice includes representation of employers in state and federal court litigation with emphasis on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims. Ayse counsels employers on a wide range of employment matters, including employee hiring and terminations, discipline, reductions in force, wage and hour issues, unemployment compensation and workplace policies tailored to prevent litigation. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle, Ayse practiced employment litigation at Porter Scott, a civil litigation firm in Sacramento California.
Professional Experience:
- Obtained Motion for Summary Judgement in an age discrimination and wrongful termination case;
- Developed key employment documents, including handbooks, employment contracts and policy statements;
- Conducted investigations and witness interviews, obtained and defended depositions, propounded and responded to discovery, including requests for document production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions, and engaged in meet and confer negotiations;
- Drafted several demurrers; and
- Handled all aspects of pre-trial litigation in State Court.
In General. Ayse received her B.S,
cum laude, in business administration from California State University, Sacramento. She received her J.D. in 2007 from the University of California, Davis where Ayse was awarded the Sacramento County Bar Association Minority Fellowship.
Ayse is fluent in Turkish.
